I flick on the idiot box to watch the decline of America's
mind, and what the hell do I see but the wicked witch of
the south, the evil bitch of Florida. You know who I'm
talking about. Katherine Harris. Who, in between holding
two terms as a Republican member of The House of
Representatives, representing her home turf of the 13th
Congressional District, has been challenging Democrat
candidate Bill Nelson for a seat in the Senate. Harris has
found time to illegally collect campaign contributions from
corporations, as well as fuck up an entire election, and all
for no reason at all. It seems clear why Harris has done
such things, hoping that one day that maybe, just maybe,
her loyalty to the Republican Party would pay off. Yet,
when Harris won the Republican's party nomination in
September of 2006, she did so with very
little support from her colleagues. Among
the "cowboy" contingents, Harris is
treated much as an outcast; whenever
she's on the idiot box with Jeb Bush,
or George W. Bush and that whole crew, they all just
look a little too uncomfortable. Kind of like that ridiculous
double-bagged ugly girl that you hooked up with drunkenly
at the frat house, that all of your friends are teasing and
punching you in the arm about, saying, "Yeah, you dogged
her!" and punching you in the arm some more. They
finally drop it, and then this psycho crazed bitch shows up
in her nicest dress and her make-up done all nice, or as
nice as she can do it. And then the discomfort sets in.
Katherine Harris is like that one night stand that just won't
leave you the fuck alone.
Katherine Harris currently holds
the seat in Congress representing
the 13th District, which
embodies all of Sarasota,
DeSoto, and Hardee
Counties, as well as most
of Manatee County. Harris
is originally from
Lakeland, Florida, and is a
member of one of Florida's
wealthiest and politically
influential families. Her Father
owned Citrus and Chemical
Bank in Lakeland, Fl, and her
"granddaddy" Ben Hill Griffin
Jr. was also a wealthy
businessman in the citrus and
cattle industries, as well as being a
very powerful man-state legislature.
Sounds very familiar to another
Republican family I know. However,
Harris' education is much more impressive than the
unnamed Republican politician that I speak of. Attending
Spain's University of Madrid in 1978, then afterwards
receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Agnes
Scott College in 1979, as well as studying under Christian
Theologian Francis Schaeffer in Switzerland. Harris
