Sterling takes to the stage. Their sound is a blend of influences that result
in a moving crowd all dancing and jumping as the mood of the music
changes throughout the set. Take a peek inside the minds of The Sterling

Where does the name The Sterling come from?
Kory- As we joined, there was a band back in the day that got broken up.
Me and josh got together with Andrew and a different bass player. We
already had the name The Sterling and I asked them what the heck it meant
and he said ‘thoroughly excellent’ is the dictionary definition of it.
Andrew- I was looking it up online because I saw it somewhere and I
looked it up and the definition is ‘thoroughly excellent’ and instantly what I
thought to myself is ‘that’s what I am’. [Laughter] - As you can tell we
are very honest.

Kory- We care and, as much as I love me some metal, we don’t do everything that every other band does. They’re all extremely
chugging guitars and all screaming and we’re kind of the opposite of it. Andrew over here has a very distinctive voice, it really
helps and gives us a different sound.
What message does the sterling bring through their music?
Zack- Everything
Andrew- a lot of our songs differ. Experiences that I’ve had if someone ion the band is going through something, they confide in
me. Because we’re a brother hood in this band. We’ll sit down as a group, as individuals and we’ll come up with stuff. And we
express ourselves in any situation to help us get through something., we hope to help someone else get through something.
Anything they’re going through. Whether it be a relationship, bad day at work, a flat tire. If they can pop in the sterling and it’ll
make them feel better, ya know that’s what we wanna do with our music is just make people enjoy life.
Kory- And me personally, just live life. You live once, growing old is mandatory, but growing old is optional. If anyone tells you,
you can’t do something. Go for it, because you can do anything you set your mind to. As cliché as it sounds, it’s true.
