read a story where we were sword fighting fairies." Angel of
Aiden says with a laugh and the shake of his head. "Oh yeah? I
heard we give piggyback rides to people." Nick tosses his hat
into the ring of fan gossip oddity. "We even fly people to Settle
from England for shows and let them sleep with us on the bus
when we go out. Did you know that? Not me. There's a lot of
stuff on the net...fake myspaces and all that. When we were
first getting into it all, it was weird. More so in the beginning, at
shows where people would start saying stuff and then you go
home and see it on the internet. I feel bad for the people back
home who have to deal with that—girlfriends...or boyfriends"
Jake "The Bun" W. chuckles. "The stuff people make up is
absolutely ridiculous! You can't take it seriously anyways. You
just gotta laugh. But some of it's just asinine! I got kids I dun
kno' 'bout. Ya kno' wha' I'm sayin' Big Bun gottem poppin' up
all ova the place." This conversation only goes to prove that A)
fans have too much time on their hands; or B) that no matter
who you are and what genre of music you play, no one is safe
from the grasp of fan-girldom. "But truthfully, when I got
chased across the street the first time, I was so scared. I didn't
know what was going on." Angel recants.
Fan girls have always been a part of the music scene clamoring
over bands like The Beatles, Elvis, Nsync, Hanson....My
Chemical Romance, Avenged Sevenfold, Aiden? What doesn't
fit here? How do these things happen? Well, take five parts
talent, five parts good looks, and one massive dose of fame.
The flies—I mean, the fans-- will flock. But in this day and age
is it too easy to become obsessed with image more so with
talent and music? Yes it is. This is a very appearance based
world we live in and none are above it. Not even the youthful
and comical members of Aiden.
