The Tampa rock outfit, Not Tonight
Josephine, may appear to be just like any
other local band: clawing their way up the
musical ladder trying to get a handhold in
the music industry. But after winning a
fan-voted spot on 97X's Next Big Thing in
December of 2010 and releasing a full
length in April, they're proving that they
have the capability to shatter expectations.
Currently touring the nation, this
determined quintet is all about reaching
their fans, and never forgetting how lucky
they are to have what they have.
NS: You guys are in Indianapolis right
now. Being such a young band, how does
it feel to play shows that far from home?
Jake: It's kind of a cool feeling. We get to
play in front of new fans and broaden our
horizons. We can get out there and show
the world what we've got. We have to look at it as an
opportunity to take Not Tonight Josephine to the next level.
NS: Late last year, you guys played at Next Big Thing
after winning a slot from 97X. Describe the feeling you
had when you recognized how hard your fans worked to
get you that gig.
Jake: That was probably one of the most fun and best
shows that we had because of the fact that we were voted
on. We've been asked to do other festivals, but it means a
lot more whenever you aren't even on the bill and the
people that you have been playing in front of for the past
two years are the ones who want to see you enough with
