Up-and-coming New Jersey band, For The Foxes, appear to be
on the fast track to success. Signed to Hopeless Records, the
same label that shot Yellowcard and All Time Low to stardom,
they could quite possibly be the label's next major success story.
For now though, this three piece is happy where they are at. They
find themselves living their personal dream, and the dream is
growing every day.
NS: Where did the name 'For The Foxes' come from? Does it
have a meaning?
Nick: Yeah. Actually, when I was in my freshman year of college
I was really into the writer Charles Bukowski and it's actually a
poem he wrote that was about being thankful for your life and the
things you have.
NS: How did you choose to sign with Hopeless Records? Were
there any other label offers you turned down?
Nick: No, actually, we've always loved Hopeless Records. We
listened to a lot of bands that were on Hopeless, that are still on
Hopeless, while we were growing up in high school. We did some
demos out in LA with a producer, and we kind of just started
talking to Hopeless right when we got back. They were one of the
first people we reached out to, and everything's been amazing so
far.
NS: What bands do you really admire on Hopeless?
Nick: I love some of the older stuff, too. I know Danny and
Jimmy love Mustard Plug and Common Rider. Some of the more
recent stuff, I'm really excited for There For Tomorrow's new
record. I like their new single Hunt Hunt Hunt. I love A
Dangerous Summer's record. I love We Are The In Crowd's EP.
They're recording their full length in May and we're really excited
for that. Yellowcard's new record is really good. We love a lot of
stuff. We're really diverse. Danny's into punk rock, so all the old
school punk rock bands that were on Hopeless Danny really loves.
