If you had to say Chiodos had one thing going for them, you would
be hard pressed to find a word other than longevity. The band,
approaching the ripe old age of 11 years, has been a name that is well
known in their genre. But it has not been all rainbows and sunshine.
After their shocking and very publicized parting of ways with former
singer Craig Owens, this well established band found themselves once
again with something to prove. After a song with the former singer
leaked, only two months away from the release of their record, their
fans were beginning to question if Chiodos would ever regain the
musical strength they had before. That was a year ago. Now things
could not be more different. The band with something to prove
became the band that couldn’t lose, proving that they still adapt. Now,
as the band continues to regain speed, keyboardist Bradley Bell looks to
the future.

NS: You’ve been on the Scream It Like You Mean It tour for a while
now. How are you enjoying it?

Bradley: It’s been awesome so far. All of the bands are super cool,
and the crowd’s been really receptive to us. So, we’ve really enjoyed it
so far aside for the fact that two of our guys are on crutches right
now. One guy broke his foot at the first show, and the other guy
sprained his ankle at the third show. We’re kind of struggling, but you
get by. There’s a couple of shows where we had a fill in drummer for
a couple of songs, but for the most part we’re getting through it.
NS: Aside from the injuries, what is the craziest thing that has happened
on this tour?

Bradley: Last night, there were some pimps and hookers in the hotel
room across from us. Somehow, I ended up getting mugged by one of
the pimps outside. I turned it back around on him somehow, I guess. I
woke up afterwards, passed out on the grass when our tour manager
found me. It was awesome, I had a great time last night.

NS: If you could go back out on the road with one band on this tour,
who would it be and why?

Bradley: I love all of them, to be honest. Everyone’s super cool. I don’t
know. We’ve been good friends with Mod Sun for a long time, so it’s
always good to see him. And we’ve met Breathe Carolina a few times.
This tour is just really awesome. The lineup is really varied.
