`          It seems to be the unwritten law of
   LEATHERMOUTH articles that the reporter
must mention the fact that the vocalist is in a
very famous band. To satisfy this law, let me start
with this: The vocalist of LEATHERMOUTH is in a very
famous band.
The band itself remains shrouded in mystery to the
masses. Their Myspage page and their page at their
record label are built with the bare minimum of
information, just enough to let you know that they really
exist. However little is known about the members of
LEATHERMOUTH, the three songs that are featured on
their Myspace are enough to give even the most ailing
faith in today’s music a kick-start. From the gritty guitars
to the unpolished screams of a rather angry young man,
it’s just the shock that many have been waiting on.
In a world where “musicians” drop originality for cash
and talent for fame, LEATHERMOUTH leaves the cute-
sy bullshit to all of the “scene kid” bands choking the
internet with their side-swept hair and koi fish tattoos. In
an interview with scene kid headquarters, Buzznet, an
undisclosed member of LEATHERMOUTH left the bait a
flyin’ as the interviewer (username- RoXXXy) attempted
to reel them in to play footsie with the scene. Many
would look at the interview and call whoever it was an
‘ass’. However, when you think of the face on that (more
than likely) little girl’s face…you have to laugh. I know I
got a damn good chuckle from it.
As mentioned in the Nyght Scene article ‘Karma’ (Sept ’
07), Leathermouth’s “noise” will be available as a
detriment to your hearing ‘soon’. The band is in the
process of recording their album and a mini-movie to go
with it. For the best updates, join the Skeleton Crew
forums and keep your eyes on their Myspace. At the
moment, their personal site
http://www.leathermouth.com/ is still under construction
so don’t look too hard for that just yet.
