


“Are we in St. Petersburg or are we in
Dublin, Ireland?” Dave King screams from
the stage at Jannus Landing before he leads
his band Flogging Molly into Drunken
Lullabies, his Irish brogue lays think in the
air. King has always spoke with the thick
brogue, however it seems thicker tonight in
the chilly Florida air, which may have
something to with the fact that the Irish
expatriate has recently been able to return
back to his home country after eight years,
due to an expired Visa. King, the Flogging
Molly front man, wasted no time in taking
advantage of his new, well deserved
freedom, going across the pond to record
Molly’s latest release Float in Ireland.
Float is eleven years in the making. This
past month King and company released
their fourth studio album, Float, that has
been receiving rave reviews from the likes
of Rolling Stone, Spin, and even AP. “We’
ve never gotten a lot of love from any
magazine,” drummer George Schwindt
says laughing “But especially from AP,
Spin, or anything like that. That’s great, I’
m glad they like it. It’s a great feeling.” he
adds. Currently on their 4th annual Green
17 Tour, Molly has managed to sell out
nearly every show, “I think a couple have
been about one hundred or one-hundred-
and-fifty tickets shy of selling out.” It’s
