The Verve Return
You read correctly! According to the BBC,
90's rock band, The Verve, has been back in
the studio after near 10 years. Richard
Ashcroft, the band's singer, was the one to
break the news to fans on their website:

To those who are going "who the fuck
are they?" You've heard at least one song in
your life, I can promise you that. It's called
"Bittersweet Symphony". Do you remember a
little movie called Cruel Intentions?
The Verve will also be taking to a small tour when their album is finished. They won't be
headed our way on it, but you can keep up with the new material from the band as it comes by
paying a visit to their website. [L/E/C]

HIMSA Calls It Quits

HIMSA has announced that they will be
taking their final bows  at El Corazon on
August 16th, 2008. The metalcore band
has decided to end their career where it
began: in Seattle, Washington.  Even if
you've only ever run across HIMSA while
looking for HIM, you've noticed them
here or there at some point in the last
decade.
Bassist Derek Hard remarked that "After 10+ years, four releases, countless tours and almost
incomprehensible (yet constant) upheaval, the last three years of the band have been relatively stable.
Having sacrificed everything we had in order to ensure the band's survival, it's time to let it go."
Unlike many bands who have fallen apart due to deaths of members, loss of friends ships and all
out chaos, HIMSA's parting is merely a painless and natural death. "We're getting along, we've toured
and we're fine. It's all good. We're leaving it at that," Hard went on to say. "Better to hang it up than
fade away." [L/E/C]

1. The Diva Song - The Fifth
Element Soundtrack.
There is no song on this planet,
or any other, that can make me
groove like this. Opera meets Star
Trek. Awesome.

2. Sleep - Edge Of Thorns
I am very much a product of The
80's power wail movement. Feel
it. CAN YOU FEEL IT?!

3. Everyday is Like Sunday -
Morrissey
I've always enjoyed the way that
Morrissey could sing about death
and chaos and all to happy
love-you-life kinda music.

4. Moonlight Sonata - Beethoven
If I were to write a song to herald
my death, as Emo as that sounds, I
would have to go no further than
this.

5. Before I'm Dead - Kidneytheives
Best song of the Queen of the
Damned Soundtrack. About time
you hear a chick singer actually
sing and not whine.
