were acting up.  Patricia Day
(bass/vocals), Kim Nekroman (guitars),
and Heinrich Neidermeier walked up with a
thunder clap to announce their entrance.
When asked about the tour, they all
respond that it has been "hot".  I then
asked if they prefer tours like Warped or
smaller headlining tours.  Patricia
responded, "We prefer big headlining
tours."  Kim added that "it's nice to do
tours like these because you get to play to
people you wouldn't normally get to."
Kim is also a founding member of the
band, the Nekromantix.  For those living in
a cave, the Nekromantix are a psychobilly
band that have been a part of the
psychobilly scene nearly since its
conception.  The Horrorpops  are a
different band to tour with because "we're
better," joked Patricia.  Kim  feels that it's a
similar experience, but there is definitely a
different fan base.
 The Horrorpops' popularity has grown
immensely over the past few years, even
though they've been playing together for
twelve years.  Neidermeier attributed this
to the fact that "we've done a lot of
touring."  I added that they've also done a
lot of tours with established bands like
Dropkick Murphys and Reverend Horton
Heat.  Patricia, once again, was quick to
correct me.  "What, are you saying we're
not established?"  I defend myself by
saying that I was referring to the times
before they were established.  The
Horrorpops were one of the bands I was
most anxious to interview, so I had to
mention that they were also harassing me
the most of any band of the day, to which
they took evil delight.  "Fans appreciate
that we sign autographs, we hang out in
the bar, we answer our MySpace.  They
wanna talk about us. 'I hung out with
Patricia of the Horrorpops', and they're
friends say 'who?', then it spreads the
word," finished Patricia.
For the latest album, the band went back
to its original three piece format.  "As a
trio, we were able to go back to our
original sound, a little more stripped
down," Kim said of the latest record.  In
regards to the future of the lineup, he adds
The sickly-sweet trio, HorrorPops, have been through twelve years as a
band.  Through which time, they have created music which encompasses
many genres, but focuses on a mixture of psychobilly and 80's new wave.
They have also attempted to add several fourth members to the band, but have
come to the realization that it's seemingly impossible to bring anybody into their
close knit family.  Recently re-emerging as a trio on their latest release, Kiss
Kiss Kill Kill, they are continuing their joyous onslaught on unexpecting
audiences worldwide.
Similar to their music, the weather for the interview was a combination of
sweet and sour.  The heat slightly subsided for a nice breeze, but the clouds
