Florida got the chance to
welcome back their boys in the
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus this
summer as the Vans Warped Tour
swung through, bringing Ronnie Winter
and Jon Wikes to Nyght Scene’s doorstep
to shoot the breeze and chat about the
most well known rock tour in America.
Nyght Scene- How are you liking the
warped tour so far?
Ronnie Winter- “Aw it’s great. I think
it’s awesome!”
Jon Wikes- “It’s a lot of fun, all the
bands on this tour are incredible.
Everyone’s hanging out and juts
having a good time. All the kids have
been great too. Everybody’s crazy
fun, it’s a really good time.”
Nyght Scene- Yeah, that’s
one thing I’ve noticed
today is no one is standing
still, everyone’s having a
good time and they’re
even crowding up for
the local bands,
not just the main
stages.
Ronnie- “Yeah, that’s awesome. But kids are
usually like that in Florida.”
Nyght Scene- Any crazy stories form the road so
far?
Jon- “I have one!”
Ronnie- “Go for it. [laughs]”
Jon- “I got a little drunk at one of the after parties
and I crawled up on the rafter. There were these
metal rafters like 15 feet up.”
Ronnie- “Yeah, people got pictures of it”
Jon- “Yeah, and I was swinging there, monkey style
and one of the big guys from catering. Thank god
he was there, he was holding my feet up and he was
like ‘This is the funnest thing I’ve done all day!’.
That‘s my only crazy story.”
Nyght Scene- What’s your favorite
and least favorite part about playing
warped tour?
Ronnie- “My favorite part is getting to play
everyday. Iunno, it’s a good tour to
be on in general.”
Jon- “I like playing outside.
I like actually sweating and
then pouring ice water all
over myself. My least
favorite part, which is kind of
ironic, is the heat when I’m not
playing. [laughs]”
