you have to really sit and listen to
this band. At least once in your life.
The Sterling have an infections
sound. The kind that you could see
on a tour with Fall Out Boy or The
Academy Is… in a heart beat. Their
music is easy to “dance” to, or what
ever we scene kids call dancing.
You can’t help but tap your foot or
move to the sound of this band.

Pop-punk has been getting a bad
rap lately, and doesn’t get taken
seriously as some bands should,
but The Sterling seem to have the
capacity to rise above that. Their
music is a bit harder, and Andrew
Gravely’s vocals seem to set them
apart from today’s “emo-front
runners” though, their lyrical
content seems similar. If you are a
fan of Taking Back Sunday, this
should be a band for you to check
out.

Soldiers
End of Days

Long Island, New York is known for
bands like Taking Back Sunday,
Head Automatica, Bayside, and
Brand New, and isn’t really known
for its ever-growing hardcore
scene. Soldiers consist of members
from another band called This Is
Hell, also popular on the scene.

You can tell that members of this
band have done this before. Their
delivery of music and lyrics is
masterful.  It is good to see a band
who knows what they are doing in
the music business; a band that
has worked hard from the first time
they came together, until the last
show they played in someone’s
basement in the middle of nowhere.

There are few bands with heart in
what they do, but one listen to
Soldiers, and you can tell that there
is something driving them. A
greater force than you or I can
comprehend. There is story behind
their lyrics; there is passion in their
delivery. This is a must have for
hardcore fans all over the world.
You can find it on Trustkill records
on October 2.

Hopesfall
Magnetic North

Magnetic North is quite
reminiscent of Taking Back
Sunday’s “Tell All Your Friends.”
The lead singer could be Adam
Lazarra’s voice twin. Hopesfall’s
full length album, available on
Trustkill Records, is a heavy-
hitting mash up of everything alive
on the scene today. There is some
screaming backing vocals,
contrived “emo” like lyrics that are
too intelligent for today’s youth to
understand sometimes, a
wonderful melodic guitar flow, and
a distinctive drum beat quietly
playing in the background.

The whole album is well put
together and well thought out. The
music is true emotionally driven
powerful music, that is lacking in
today’s industry. There is real
emotion put into eatch letter of
each word being sung, and it is
sung with just as much drive as it
took to write them on paper.
