And you thought it was just a witty title. No, the tiny upstairs room
of The State Theatre that we opt to do the interview in is completely
without light. The bathroom light works, the tiny bulb in the hall
works, but not the main light, leaving the room dark and ominously
bigger. Kevin Thrasher, Pierrick Berube, Paris Bosserman, Myk
Russel, and Scott Gee of LoveHateHero all sit in the semi-quiet
darkness on random pieces of furniture to sofas to the mini-fridge by
the door all for love of light and reaching the recorder.
Born of the sunny streets of L.A., the members of LoveHateHero
are very aware of the musical hotspot they come from. “There’s a
lot of music in general. Everyone that you talk to is in a band in
Cali…It’s why we started touring early. ‘Cause it’s hard as hell to
make it as a band just playing L.A. clubs.”
“For instance, we’ve playing in Oregon more than we’ve played in
our hometown. Although, recently we’ve started to draw people a lot
better in L.A. Places more or less outside of it like Alpine, the
Showcase Theater or Chain Reaction. They’re more like our home
even though we’re from L.A.” Adds Myk. The lineup of
LoveHateHero has been through some crazy changes but
once the labels started taking an interest in LoveHateHero
it was finally time to lock down a serious band. All in
between the band’s first and seconds albums no less.
 “We were really new as writers,
together, on this one so
the next one- I mean, this one is amazing, but our next one
is gonna be even better.” Though Myk will tell that much,
they didn’t want to drop any clues to their work on a new
album though, “It’s a secret.”
 “The genre is LoveHateHero. It’s punk rock and
hardcore mixed with some pop and some metal riffs.”
That’s LoveHateHero’s interesting blend of sounds in a
nutshell. With a little 80’s metal influence the guys of
LoveHateHero managed to blend it all into a smooth, albeit
