his beer. “There were some drum samples,
and loops that we meant to use and just
never got around to using.” Gourley adds
about the more “organic” sound to his
band’s sophomore record Church Mouth . A
different direction from their previous recording,
2004’s
Waiter: You Vultures, “Who wants to hear
the same record twice?” Sechrist asks, and maybe
he’s right.
 Although their record sales may not be reflected in
the reception that PTM has excepted. With nearly 10,000
units moved since it’s release last June. “We kind of did
that to ourselves though.” Carothers  says, Gourley
chuckles to himself, “We kind of encouraged (Gourley uses
quotations when saying encouraged) people to download
the record.”  Intrigued I ask “Legally?” All three shake their
heads at the same time, “Which ever, legally illegally doesn’
t matter as long as they get the record.” Baffled, by their
audacity, one can ‘t do anything but laugh especially
considering the stance that most bands particularly younger
bands like PTM  have taken on the issue of illegal
